We have finished an 86.4kWp solar PV system installed on the rooftop of MYANBISCO Biscuit Factory located in Shwe Pyi Thar. The system is working together with its existing grid and diesel generator.

Myanbisco Food Industries has been in the market for more than 2 decades. Our client distributes its various kinds of products under different names throughout the country. It also exports to Malaysia and Singapore.  Our client imports high-quality raw materials and maintains its product quality.

Indigo Energy performed a site visit in early 2018 and completed a pre-feasibility study detailing the technical issues to be considered when designing a system. The project started installation in mid-2019 and our client could run its factory with solar energy after 2 weeks of installation. Before installing the solar system, the factory was running with two sources of energy, a national grid, and a Diesel Generator.  The solar system is designed to work with both the grid and Diesel Generator.  The solar system is supplying more than 50% of the factory's energy consumption. As a result of that, our client is saving electricity costs not only for the national Grid but also for diesel consumption.

As there are no other factories in our client’s area that have installed the solar system yet, our client can demonstrate to its neighboring factories the benefits of solar power.  Solar technology is not cutting edge but still a new concept to the people of Myanmar. With the installation of this solar project, our client could be able to demonstrate leadership and forward-thinking in the traditional food and beverage sector in Myanmar.
