Procurement Assistant

Indigo Energy’s mission is to develop, build, and operate high-quality solar projects. Based in Myanmar from 2012, Indigo Energy has evolved over time. The first phase was focused on rural electrification, the second phase on commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar, and the most recent (i.e. Indigo Energy 3.0) on outsourced engineering services around solar.

Indigo Energy is seeking a procurement who can help the purchasing process of the Indigo Energy team. This person will lead all the procurement processes both locally and internationally.

Job Description

  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Make recommendations on research findings.

  • Evaluate suppliers based on their capabilities, reliability, and pricing. Negotiate terms and conditions, such as pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, to establish favorable contracts and agreements.

  • Collaborate with project teams and engineers to identify procurement needs and specifications, particularly related to electrical components or any other specialized requirements.

  • Manage the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any supply chain issues.

  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to reconcile invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment to suppliers. Maintain records of all procurement-related transactions.

  • Regularly check and update the inventory list to ensure accurate stock levels and avoid any disruptions in the supply chain.

  • Familiarize yourself with the process of importing and customs clearance, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Coordinate with clearance agents and suppliers to facilitate the smooth movement of goods.

  • Inspect and check the quality of product when they arrive, ensuring they meet the specified requirements and quality standards.
