How does my 4+ year journey in Indigo Energy look like?

Zin Mie Mie Htun, the Business Development Manager of Indigo Energy shared her 4+ years of experience in Indigo Energy. Her unique perspective adds so much to the Indigo Energy team and, in addition, her hard work and dedication are an example to everyone on our team!

"4 years ago, I joined IndigoEnergy. My 4-year journey is not an impressive story though, so allow me to appreciate the ones who raised me directly or indirectly through my journey. I graduated under a mediocre education system in 2017. I will describe myself that I was even more miserable than the other graduates but somehow the company saw the potential in this underdog and hired me.

During these years, I worked on many kinds of solar project developments starting from micro-grid to C&I projects to utility-scale projects. I communicated with clients from Burmese local business owners to the experts working for big MNCs. Dealing with people from different backgrounds is not so easy and I have to switch on different communication methods at the same time.

By working with big organizations, I could see how they maintain their work quality and I could apply back in my company. Friendly clients who respect my professionalism make me keep working in the Business Development area.

Gender discrimination is not a joke in Myanmar and you can imagine how difficult is it for a young woman who is trying to close the deal with 65-year-old unfriendly-local-business-owner or convincing about solar technology to the 10+years experienced technician/electrician. Working with these clients always makes me stronger and I can’t forget them as part of my journey.

The remaining credit will go to my boss and mentor for believing in me and my colleagues for creating an amazing environment to work."
