Allen has been based in the messily vibrant city of Yangon since 2012 with a short stint in Shanghai, always working in renewable energy and project development . In Myanmar, he has mainly focused on developing electricity projects (solar, gas, hydro, biomass gasification) and some agro – forestry projects . Prior to graduate school, Mr . Himes worked as an electrical engineer doing controls and automation . After completing his MBA with a focus in renewable energy, Mr . Himes bought a one – way ticket to Asia in early 2012 , first working in Hong Kong on wind farm development before transitioning to Myanmar . Mr . Himes received a B . S . in Electrical Engineering and has an MBA from Babson College . He is a native English speaker, fluent in French, and conversational in Burmese .
Zin joined Indigo Energy after finishing a Bachelor of Engineering in University of Technology ( Yatanarpon Cybercity ) in Pyin Oo Lwin After finishing her University, she worked as sales engineer at Indigo Energy for 6 months . Now she works as a BD Associate . She is responsible for business development, managing and growing the sales pipeline, and meeting with clients . . Although she has a technical background, she is interested in business and she believes she will get a lot of knowledge in that field by working at Indigo Energy .
She recently joined Indigo Energy and has responsibility for communication with Japanese clients. In 2016, she visited Yangon as a volunteer journalist for the first time. She was inspired by some passionate and open minded local NGOs she interviewed and decided to work for Myanmar’s development. “Interfaith activities for peace building in Myanmar” is the graduation thesis theme she wrote. She learned Buddhism for 1 month becoming a nun in Yangon and worked at Hpa-an office of INGO before she joined Indigo Energy. She has a great passion for renewable energy and electricity supply development in Myanmar.
Hnin Wai joined as an Admin & Marketing in Indigo Energy after working as a translator in garment factory. She got a Bachelor Degree in English from Dagon University. She is responsible for office management and marketing for business development. She is interested in management so she believes that she can learn a lot and get massive knowledge and experience by working in Indigo Energy.
The Indigo Energy Technical Team
Robin joined Indigo Energy after working with a Californian solar nonprofit. Anything to do with making the world a better place excites him, especially if it also means he can geek out a bit at the same time! That’s why he decided to study Engineering at Swarthmore College, focusing on renewable energy. Since finishing high school, he has thrown himself into any renewable energy related work he could find, from joining Indigo Energy in our early days to going on a solo research project in renewable energy policy in Japan. Currently managing projects, designing systems and solving challenging problems to ensure clients are satisfied and projects are installed safely. When he’s not working, he enjoys taking landscape photos, playing board games and getting lost (in cities, in nature, in paintings, in books, etc etc).
May got Bachelor of Engineering degree majoring in Electronic and Communication from TU ( Taungoo ) . Her main responsibilities are estimating roof suitability, electrical demand and electricity economics for our client’s company . She is interested in renewable energy technologies because they provide a means of getting electricity in an environmentally sustainable way . She was involved in many projects at her university such as installation of an LED system, testing meter system, etc . She wants to be a professional engineer in her field .
Min Lwin received an AGTI diploma in electronics and communication from Yenangyaung in 2013. He has three years of experience as a technician doing solar installations, panel building, service, and O&M for various electrical equipment. His responsibilities are installation of solar PV projects, making site survey and O&M services.
Phyo Wai joined Indigo Energy as a Junior Solar Engineer. He got a Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Technology (Yatanarpon Cyber City). He did various projects including solar when he was in University. He wants to learn more about solar engineering in this company. He is working here to become a professional electronic engineer.
Phyo Arkar Moe received Bachelor of Degree in Electrical Power from West Yangon Technological University in 2020. He joined Indigo Energy after graduating from WYTU. He is interested in renewable energy technologies. So he is working and learning from Indigo Energy. He wants to be a project manager in the future. So he is working to become a talented engineer. He likes playing video games and football when he is not working.
Ei Htwe joined Indigo Energy after finishing a Bachelor of Engineering in University of Technology in Taung gyi. After finishing university, she joined Indigo Energy as a sales engineer. After working as a sales engineer for 9 months, she is moving to procurement department. Her main responsibilities now are negotiation and purchasing of solar equipment and supplier management, including issuing RFPs, comparing quotes, and managing the purchasing paperwork. She is interested in procurement and quantity surveying. She was previously involved in many infra structure projects.
